San Joaquin County Office of Education
Kirk is Director of STEM at San Joaquin County Office of Education. He is also co-director of the Delta Sierra Science Project, a six county region of the California Science Project. In addition, he is regional science-lead of the Curriculum and Instruction Subcommittee of the California County Superintendent’s Educational Services Association. Kirk was also a member of the NGSS State Review Team and the NGSS Science Expert Panel, helping California adopt the NGSS state standards for science. Senior Administrative Assistant
Ann is the new Senior Administrative Assistant for the Office of STEM at San Joaquin County Office of Education. Ann has been at San Joaquin County Office of Education for 10 years, 6 of those with the Assessment Projects department prior to joining Science and STEM team. She is responsible for supporting the SIMMS grant as well as all other programs ran by the Science and STEM office. Duties include wide variety of secretarial duties and assisting Amy. Ann carries a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from California State University, Stanislaus. Ann is married and has two daughters. She and her family like to travel as much as possible and always look forward to their annual summer fishing trip.
Bret is a STEM Coordinator/SIMMS Grant Director for Office of STEM at San Joaquin County Office of Education. He received his Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln in 1997 and Master of Science in Education (Curriculum and Instructional Strategies) from the University of New England in 2009. As STEM Coordinator for the San Joaquin County Office of Education, he provides STEM professional development and support for K-12 teachers throughout the area as well as grant coordination for the CaMSP, Cohort 10 SIMMS Project. Science Coordinator/ Science and Engineering Fair Coordinator
Lissa is a Science/Science Fair Coordinator for the Office of STEM at the San Joaquin County Office of Education. She received her bachelor’s in Marine Biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz and her Master of Arts in Educational Administration from the University of the Pacific. As a Science Coordinator for the San Joaquin County Office of Education, she provides professional development and support for K-12 teachers. Lissa is also the Coordinator for the San Joaquin County Science and Engineering Fair.
Educational Technology Coordinator
Stephen is the Educational Technology Coordinator for the Office of STEM at the San Joaquin County Office of Education. He is a former science, math, and engineering teacher. Stephen received his bachelor's degree from University of California, Berkeley in Cognitive Science. Stephen is focused on the intersection between education, technology and engineering ways to improve people's lives. He invents and programs hoping to inspire learners of all ages. Stephen is also the manager of the Engineering and Design Center.
Conni is the Region 6 coordinator of the California Regional Environmental Education Community which includes San Joaquin and Stanislaus Counties. She coordinates the Delta Studies and the Delta and Floodplain Ecology Institutes and maintains their grants. She received her Bachelors of Science in Education from the University of the Pacific and has specializations in GATE science education and English Language Development. She has 36 years experience in California Elementary Schools where she served on science and English language development curriculum committees and did professional development in computer science.
