Digitarium® Planetarium System
The Digitarium® Planetarium System is a wonderful way to bring your students to space without ever leaving your school! The San Joaquin County has a portable digital planetarium for members of the SPACE Consortium. To become a member of the consortium there is a one time $125 fee per school which includes the training of three teachers in San Joaquin County. Consortium members can then check out the star lab for a weekly fee of $125.
About the Dome

The current dome takes up an area of 16' x 20' with a 16' diameter. The dome is 10.5' high. The space within the dome can comfortably seat 20 adults or 30 students.

Fall 2018 Trainings:
Typically trainings are held at the beginning of the school year every September. All schools must have at least one trained teacher in order to reserve the Planetarium System. Only teachers trained through SJCOE can operate the system. If you want to have parent volunteers run the system, they must attend the training here at SJCOE. If you are interested in knowing more about future trainings for the upcoming school year use the link below to check out the training dates. https://www.sjcoescience.org/professional-development.html |
