North Central Valley STEM Center

The North Central Valley STEM Center is a Regional Collaborative Partnership between area leaders in education, industry and businesses from throughout the Northern Central Valley and beyond. Our mission is to prepare our region to graduate the most STEM capable students. ​We are currently accepting applications for our annual STEM teacher and student awards as well as teacher mini grants.

LLNL Science Education Program Has New Resources for Teachers and Students!
During these uncertain times, LLNL's Science Education Program is providing distance learning and remote classroom resources through Physics with Phones lessons and worksheets relating to our Science on Saturday video presentations. Science at Home, videos of LLNL scientists and engineers sharing experiments from home, and our Fun with Science videos bringing the field trip experience to your classroom!

The California Environmental Literacy Initiative (CAELI), led by Ten Strands, works statewide with guidance from a leadership council to create systems change in support of environmental literacy with a focus on access, equity, and cultural relevance for all students.

Teachers College of San Joaquin's Professional Learning Center (PLC) provides opportunities for educators to purchase non-degree, Professional Development Units (PDUs) to continue their education and mover over on the pay scale* (One professional development unit is equal to a total of 15 hours of seat time)
*Always check with your school and/or district prior to purchasing PD units to ensure that they will accept them.

 ​Teachers College of San Joaquin's New Environmental Literacy, M.Ed. Program

The program was developed in response to SB720 (signed into law in fall 2018) requiring local educational agencies throughout the state of CA to provide environmental education instruction to pupils in kindergarten and grades 1 through 12, inclusive. This degree will develop educators’ expertise in Environmental Literacy and prepare them to assume leadership roles. DELTA SIERRA SCIENCE PROJECT

The Delta Sierra Science Project (DSSP) is a regional project funded by the California Science Project (CSP), a university-based professional development network for teachers of science at all levels.   DSSP is a partnership between San Joaquin County Office of Education and University of the Pacific and services the region which includes:  Amador, Calaveras, Merced, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, and Tuolumne  Counties. The Exploratorium Teacher Institute (TI) has been the professional development home for middle school and high school math and science teachers since 1984. The mission is to create and support a collaborative community of teacher, at all levels of their careers, through professional development that joyfully emphasizes the teaching and learning of science as a process for understanding the world around us. TI workshops and programs designed to provide opportunities for them to ask questions as learners, share expertise as practitioners, and develop as leaders.
